Urgent Appointment

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

When you get in touch, our care navigation team will ask you questions to book you in with the correct clinician or signpost you to a more appropriate service.

Routine Appointment

To request a routine appointment:

  • use our appointment request form, Monday to Friday
  • phone us on 01924 420242 8.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse, advanced care practitioner or pharmacist rather than a doctor. They are all qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Extended Access GP Appointments

Our patients are now able to visit a GP after work and on weekends.

The location is: Cherry Tree Surgery, 132 Upper Commercial Street, Batley, WF17 5DH.

Appointment times are between 6.30pm and 9pm each weekday, with additional slots available on Saturdays from 9am until 4pm and Sundays from 9am until 1pm.

Please call/ask at Kirkgate Surgery reception to book an appointment (subject to availability).

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
